Though I've always loved creating, painting has been a second-half-of-life discovery. It began as an inner-revolt against the constant need for words. It became an entirely new way of seeing and experiencing the world. I'm now delighted to get to share that vision with others through my work.
My art is an attempt at connection--to myself and to the world around me. My subjects often reflect what I am drawn to at any particular moment, which is why many center on issues of justice and the heart. I am increasingly drawn to the raw emotion and play available in abstraction.
I'm not saying I'm the Michael Jordan of painters, but like Mr. Jordan, I do tend to stick my tongue out when I'm concentrating (see photo).
I'm excited to announce I've recently moved to a new studio space in Falls Church, Virginia! I hope you'll come visit the Studios@307 to see my work in person.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me via the contact form with any questions. And be sure to sign up for my newsletter to keep up-to-date on my latest offerings. I'm so glad to be connected.
